Fatigue analysis - The offshore and marine industries experience high-energy environmental conditions; resulting in dynamic and cyclic loading. Using FEA & fracture mechanic methods, fatigue and subsequent catastrophic failure can be predicted or explained (with an already failed item). This is an extremely important design area for mission/project critical components. Knowing the expected life of a structure or component allows Companies to avoid untimely failures as well as enabling them to prepare 'programmed maintenance' shutdowns before a catastrophic failure.
